Things to come at VisionLighter!
Sorry I’ve been away for so long! It has been a few years, and the site’s SSL even lapsed since the last post. More posts will start showing up here soon. Hopefully once a week, a post about an IT topic will be made here. The site may also be getting updates on its appearance and provided pages. It is a new year, and there are many new exciting topics to talk about.
Cybersecurity is evolving on a constant basis. The standards, tactics, policies, procedures, and other solutions we use and provide are also changing. From Executive Orders, to national standards, and coding guidelines; practices evolve. Organizations have a constant need to update their testing abilities to keep up with evolving threats in the landscape. Hopefully, the Open Source community can help keep users safe as well as the rest of the IT community. Here at VisionLighter, we’ll try to make some posts about various topics on the internet. And while the content may have been repeated at one time or another. This has the potential to be a knowledgebase or nexus to other content on the Internet. Our core focus of IT knowledge will be software development.
Software is an evolving wild as well. AI is making a prominent entry into the flow and persistence of software around the world. Thus it must not be ignored, and hopefully we can shed some light on this topic as well. Suggesting various solutions to different problems. As well as how to use AI to solve problems, and not just remove yourself from the job completely. Keeping the human in the loop is a big idea in IT. Hopefully we can preserve this detail and see that jobs can still be created with the use of AI. More to come on AI. And with AI and software in mind, that means we’ll be making projects.
Project fatigue is a very real topic in the world of IT, and when you combine software development, cybersecurity, and operations; you get DevSecOps. In this world you also have to comply with various life cycles to avoid antipatterns. And in DevSecOps, there are many lifecycles you can use to improve your project flow. Best Practices constantly change. And with items like OWASP Top 10, and CWE Top 25; you can see how the needs of the cybersecurity community changes over time. Here at VisionLighter, we’ll try to make some posts about project management. Like how various organizations are structuring their best practices for project management guidelines. What life cycles to use for different parts of project development. And other various topics on project management.
While VisionLighter is not necessarily a source of cybersecurity activity on the internet; there may be coverage on topics dealing with cybersecurity here. Penetration testing, incident response, capture the flag, cryptography and other topics are on the board; hopefully soon some posts will be made.
Overall, there is a lot going on in the landscape of the world. And we’ve got a lot to cover. While the world outside is looking a little confusing; at VisionLighter we’ll try to light the room for various topics in the world of IT. Hopefully this can provide a better vision of how to approach the topic of software development with cybersecurity in mind. Until the next post. Have a great day!
